We would love for you to join the pre-wedding event in our respective ancestral homes
Both households begin the wedding celebrations in our home towns — prayers, rituals and blessings from the household deities and the elders. By the end of the ceremony we are officially a bride and a groom.
Lahari’s guests The Telugu bride-making ceremony — turmeric and oil are applied for added glow. A start before sunrise, symbolising a fresh transition.
Vignesh’s guests The Tamil opening ceremony — a wooden pole is raised, letting the street know a wedding starts here. Prayers are offered to the family deity and ancestors.
The pre-wedding event will be held the weekend before the wedding, 27/28 February 2027.
If you would like to make it to the pre-wedding event and are planning your trip — please note we’re trying to coordinate flights out of India to Sri Lanka so that as many of us as possible can travel and arrive together, at reduced rates.
If you are unable to attend the pre-wedding event, we’ll see you in Sri Lanka!
We are planning to arrange transport to and from Colombo and the resort.
We are negotiating a discounted room rate with the hotel — please don’t book directly.
